A few days prior to the April 4th, 2006 election, some voters received anonymous postcards. These postcards violated state election campaign statutes.
At the April 24th Village Board meeting, a resolution was introduced asking the Dane County District Attorney to investigate the origin of the postcards.
The resolution was defeated by a 4 to 3 vote. Trustees Jennifer Heaton-Amrhein, Jennifer Kushner, and Patrick Miles voted "Yes". Trustees Don Havlik, Gordon Kensgaard, Chris Klar, and Kevin Wernet voted "No".
